I am so thankful to be a part of Georgetown ISD! I serve alongside Cooper, McCoy, Purl and Village Elementary staff to design innovative and engaging work through impactful technology integration. I strive to empower and inspire those I work with to achieve their personalized technology integration goals through coaching, collaboration, and designing and delivering professional learning. My work also involves partnering with other departments and my Digital Learning teammates to support district initiatives. One of my favorite things about this job is being able to meet and collaborate with many different people across the district.
This is my 25th year in Georgetown ISD. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Elementary Education, and finished my master's degree from The University of North Texas in Library Science. I began my teaching career in fourth grade, taught reading intervention and most recently worked as the GISD Elementary Lead Librarian and the librarian for McCoy Elementary School. I recently joined the Digital Learning world to pursue my love of technology and working with teachers.
I am passionate about technology integration and enjoy opportunities to share my love of technology with teachers and students. I have many years of expertise in technology integration using Google and Microsoft products, Chromebooks, and iPads. My passion is helping teachers grow and learn how they can incorporate technology in an impactful and meaningful way for their students. I follow Matt Miller, Eric Curts, and Kasey Bell and consider them some of the top EdTech gurus because they create and share super practical ideas for digital learning implementation.
I live in Georgetown with my husband and little doggie. We have two sons. Jared is 22 and recently graduated from Texas A &M and just accepted his first job with Stryker. Joshua is 19 and a sophmore at my alma mater, Texas Tech. A few of my favorite things are spending time with family, hanging out with friends and traveling. In the rare moments I have free time, I enjoy reading a good book. I look forward to meeting lots of new people in my new role and can't wait to partner with the new teachers I meet.
