Hello Stingray Families!
My name is Alissa Roberts and this will be my first year teaching 2nd grade English Language Arts at Village! I was born and raised in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and moved to Texas for my student teaching experience many years ago. My undergraduate degrees are in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and Psychology from University of Northern Iowa and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Texas State. I previously taught in Northside ISD in San Antonio for thirteen years, then moved to Georgetown and spent eight years in Austin ISD and this year I am thrilled to be in GISD and closer to home. I have a wonderful and supportive husband and together we have an energetic toddler and a sweet newborn baby! Prior to becoming a mom my passion was athletics and rescuing homeless cats and dogs. I have furbabies, a dog, Gigi and a cat, Dottie. My family and I are active in the gym and enjoy exploring trails or just about anything outdoors. My hope is to provide ALL children with equitable learning opportunities where they feel empowered to take risks in their education that will allow them to reach their full academic and social potential.
