Principal: Jarred Dorhauer
This is my 5th year at Village Elementary and my 13th year here in GISD. Over my 16 years in education, I’ve had the opportunity to teach all levels of middle school math, Texas history, world history, and boys’ athletics. I left middle school after 11 years and found my niche right here at The Village. From the tiniest of kiddos to our big-time 5th graders, I can’t help but have a smile on my face when I walk through these doors. My wife, Ronda, and I have two amazing kiddos. Our daughter, Khloe, is beginning her seventh-grade year at Benold (GO EAGLES), and our son, Sawyer, is in 5th grade right here at Village. As a family, we are consumed with our kids’ extracurricular activities; when we get a break, you can find us at a nearby park in our travel trailer.
My goal is to give each and every one of your children a safe place to learn. I want them to come inside each morning knowing that there are safe adults that truly care about them and the journey they are on. Nothing beats starting off the day on the Village front porch with a round of fist-bumps and high-fives! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you and this community; it’s truly an honor.

Assistant Principal
I was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas and moved to Austin to pursue a teaching career in 2012. I have a 28 year old daughter and a 3 year old son and I am thrilled to work and serve in GISD! ¡Yo soy Sra. Garza y nací y crecí en Brownsville, Texas. Tengo una hija de 28 años y un hijo de 3 años. ¡He vivido en Austin desde 2012 y estoy encantada de trabajar en GISD!
My teaching experience includes bilingual dyslexia, bilingual intervention, instructional coaching for teachers and 4th grade bilingual language arts. I received my Master's degree in Educational Leadership in 2021 and this is my 13th year in education and my second year as an assistant principal at the best school. I am very excited to start a new school year and continue building relationships with students, teachers and parents! Mi experiencia incluye dislexia bilingüe, intervención bilingüe, entrenamiento instruccional para maestros y artes lingüísticas bilingües de 4to grado. Recibí mi maestría en Liderazgo Educativo en 2021 y este es mi 13o año en educación y mi segundo año como subdirectora en la mejor escuela. ¡Estoy muy emocionado de comenzar un nuevo año escolar y continuar construyendo relaciones con estudiantes, maestros y padres!
